About this course

THIS IS A DONATION BASED COURSE.

Embark on a 6 week journey to understand, practice and integrate the foundations of buddhist meditation practice. This is a live, virtual course designed for folks who are curious about initiating and sustaining a practice of mindfulness meditation.

A common misconception that people have when starting a meditation practice is that it's a concentrated state free of thoughts. This idea can be an obstacle in the journey of an individual who wants to build a consistent practice and experience the benefits of meditation.

In this course the participants will learn how to overcome these obstacles and build a practice that nourishes their well-being. Over the course of 6 weeks through guided meditations and supportive dialog participants will develop confidence and curiosity towards building their meditation practice.

ABOUT THE TEACHER

A long-term practitioner in the Theravada tradition and a certified mindfulness facilitator from UCLA’s Mindfulness Awareness Research center, Rakhi supports others in cultivating a rich and fulfilling relationship with their meditation practice.

Rakhi’s meditation journey started with a longing to unravel the complexities of her own mind and liberate herself from self-imposed suffering. Over the past two decades Rakhi has found a deep sense of stability in her own life through Vipassana meditation, silent retreats and yoga practice. She expresses deep gratitude to her teachers (S.N. Goenka, Ayya Dhammadipa, Ayya Anandabodhi, Gil Fronsdal, Diana Winston, B.K.S Iyengar) whose work and guidance continue to light the path for her.
